Smart USA Fights Dirty On Twitter

Posted on 22 June 2012 by Adam Kaslikowski

Smart USA has some pretty cleaver people working for their social media crew. Last Sunday, a notoriously negative advertising pundit posted to his twitter account “Saw a bird had crapped on a Smart Car. Totaled it.” Someone at Smart USA was paying attention and over the next two days called around to various farmers to see how much the average individual bird feces for 3 different species weighs – which doesn’t exactly seem like the most logical step to take when someone rags on the company you are payed to look after. The next step, obviously, is to put together an internet-friendly infographic to illustrate exactly how much bird poop it would take to deform the Smart’s safety cell.

These examples of clever and cheeky PR are few and far between, and appreciated by us here at DrivingScene. Keep it up Smart. If you too would like to know exactly how much emu caca it would take to crush a subcompact car, click here, and consider following Smart’s twitter feed to enjoy these efforts firsthand.
